November 26th 2024 Fishing Report

Vedder River

After an amazing salmon season we are starting to get near the end of the coho and chum run. While there are still fresh fish pushing into the system here and there they are not in high numbers as the bulk of the fish have already passed. As we get into December, there are chances of early steel head as well as late Coho

Nicomen Slough

The Nicomen has seen a lot of fish this year, usually by this time the fish are a little darker but there are still the odd chrome fish that show up. This river can be fished through multiple methods such as fly, casting spoons, twitching jigs, and float fishing. This river typically fishes until the early weeks of December.

Stave River

There has been tons of chum and coho returning to the Stave this year. While typically the Stave starts to taper off mid November, there has been multiple reports of chrome fish still in the system. Like the Nicomen the Stave can be fished using various methods of casting spoons, twitching jigs, flies, and float fishing. Catching chum can be achieved fairly easily, with a simple float jig under a float setup.

Saltwater Report

Feeder Spring fishery is in full swing ! Numerous reports of success along Bowen island as well as Howe Sound. There was not much of a break between our local Fraser mouth fishery and feeder springs. However, if you want to target feeder springs you would have to use different tactics to have success. Typically feeder springs are closer towards the bottom chasing bait balls, so ensuring you are fishing the right depths is crucial. Anything glow and flashy generally works as these fish are actively feeding. Prawning and Crabbing has slowly gained momentum after a long commercial season.
