Vinyl D Rib Medium is an exceptional fly tying material that is best used for bodies on nymphs. Vinyl D Rib is perfect for wrapping bodies on caddis and stonefly nymphs. Caddis pupae and larvae can be imitated well with this material. It is perfect for stonefly bodies or even a rib on large stoneflies. Vinyl rib is not particularly stretchy, this is great for making bombproof flies but can make tie in a bit challenging. A tip is to melt the very end of the material with a lighter, then gently pull on the end to make a long and thin taper. This makes tie-in bulk minimal. Vinyl D Rib is a wonderful material!
